Preparation
- Prep the batter mix:
- Before opening, thoroughly shake the French Toast Mix bag to remix the ingredients.
- Measure the amount of batter mix desired and set aside; reseal the rest.
- Whisk the eggs:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs thoroughly.
- Whisk in the whole milk and orange peel with the eggs.
- Add the French toast mix and whisk until evenly distributed.
- Preheat the griddle or frying pan:
- Coat the griddle or frying pan with some butter, covering the entire surface.
- Dip the bread:
- Transfer batter to a container with a flat basin.
- Quickly dip each of the 12 bread slices into the prepared batter; flip each slice to coat each side evenly.
- Fry each side of bread until lightly golden brown.
- Remove and serve with maple or coconut syrup and powdered sugar.
